Berkey Avenue Announcements
         The work day at the church has be en rescheduled for this Wednesday, June 17 , beginning at 8:30 a.m. to trim shrubs, trees, and bushes and any other outside work we will have time to do. Bring any tools you have to help with the project and we will make the place look better. The Trustees

         JYFers: Annika' s family is planning our next event a bike ride through the country to her grandparents ' place (about six miles one way). Please meet at Abshire Park on Wednesday, June 24 , at 5:30 p . m. Bring your bike, helmet, and water bottle i f you have a place to carry one. We will have a snack out there but you should eat supper before the ride. We will ride back to Abshire and arrive around 8:00 or 8:30 p . m. We can call parents that evening for a better idea on times. Please RSVP to the Bontragers or Neufelds.

         Alex ' s ablation on the June 3 went ve ry well. We want to say a big `` t hank you '' for all of the prayers, well wishes, cards, visits and other expressions of concern and support that so many of you showed Alex and our family during this time. We are so blessed to be part of this loving group. Thank you!!!

                  This fall our congregation will have 22 young people attending Mennonite colleges or seminaries! Each of them is eligible for assistance of $500 for the fall semester from our college and seminary matching fund. Therefore we hope to raise $1 1 ,000 by July 15. As of right now, we have $3,682.28 in the college fund, so are on our way toward our goal for the fall semester. Mark your contribution for the College F und and place it in the offering.

The Christian Education Commission

         You're invited to a reception at Silverwood Mennonite Church on Sunday, June 28, 3:00-5:00 p.m. , to celebrate the 60 th wedding anniversary of Peter and Gladys Buller. The program begins at 3:00 p.m. See the invitation posted on the bulletin board.

Summer Christian Education
This summer the Christian Education Com mission, in cooperation with our youth coordinators, will sponsor a series of intergenerational activities intended to strengthen the relationships among adults, youth, and children . Here's what we're currently planning. Some of these events may change as we work on details.

Fellowship meal immediately after worship (no Sunday school).

MYF reports on Columbus 2009 (the biannual convention) during Sunday school .

Back to School Sunday. During the Sunday S chool hour, c hildren will be introduced to their new teachers and rooms; adults will hear about the new fall classes; then everyone goes outside to plant our new peace pole.

The new f all quarter begins for children up through 5 th grade. JYF, MYF, and adults meet in the meetingroom to hear Hilary Scarsella, CPTer in Iraq and AMBS student.

Our Schools
A summer Open House at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary is scheduled for June 22. This is a valuable time to explor e classes, experienc e worship with the community , and learn about everything from financial aid to community life.         Would you like to get to know an international student? Goshen College is looking for Host Families for some of our students to live with for the
academic year.
Interested families should live within a mile of the college and have a spare room in their house. Financial support of $100-150/month
could be available.

Community Announcements
        Petrus and Yuliana Handoyo (Mission Mosaic, p. 72) will be speaking about their work in Mongolia on June 16in the Oak Court Social Room at Greencroft. They are sent to Mongolia by the Mennonite Church Muria Synod of Indonesia (GKMI).Petrus teaches philosophy, world religions and biblical courses at the Union Bible Training Center in Ulaanbaatar. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. witha carry-in meal. Bring table service and a dish to share; drinks will be provided. All are welcome to this event sponsored by Mennonite Mission Network Auxiliary.

        A Transforming Revival Seminar takes place June 19-20, at Comunidad Cristiana Adulam, Goshen. The speaker will be Rhonda Hughey, Director of Fusion Ministries. For more information, see the flier posted on the bulletin board.

        
There will be an auction for missions on Saturday, June 27, 5:30 p.m., at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. There will also be a haystack supper and pie and ice cream (concluding at 7:00 p.m.), and a silent auction starting at 4:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the missions of the church.         The Great Lakes office of the Mennonite Central Committee is organizing a Learning Tour to Israel/Palestine to visit with MCC partners and learn about the work of MCC in that region. The tour is scheduled for November 14-25, 2009, and is limited to14 participants. Information about the tour, including the proposed schedule, application form, medical form, Memo of Understanding and a list of partners to be visited are all available at the MCC Great Lakes website: /www.mcc.org/greatlakes/events/learningtour.htm"">.
