Small groups at Berkey are an important part of our care for one another and our intimacy with God. Small groups have traditionally been formed as intergenerational groups, but we also recognize the importance of age-specific groups and groups formed around a particular common interest. All who call Berkey home are invited to join a small group.
Intergenerational Small Groups
Most of our small groups are intergenerational, meeting for fellowship, Bible or book study, sharing and prayer. These groups meet either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Prayer Shawl Ministry Group
This is an opportunity to gather with friends. Pray for the recipients of the Prayer Shawls, and also learn some knitting skills. As we gather we can decide when and how often we would like to meet.

YOFAs (Young Families)
This small group meets for monthly potlucks. It is an open group and welcomes any new families to join them.
Praying with Scripture
This group will practice different ways of praying with scripture using the gospel of Matthew. Each member will pray on their own one hour a week with a chapter of Matthew. Once a month the group will meet for two hours to share experiences and learnings, and to pray together. The group begins in September and continues through April. Preference is given to people who aren’t already in a small group. Limit: 10 people (5 spots still available).
Leaders: Dan and Jennifer Schrock
Women of all ages are invited to join in a monthly gathering to share a meal and to share from our lives, with emphasis on spiritual growth. A group can accommodate 6-8 women and another group may form if there is additional interest. Hosting will rotate.
