Summary
César has been the general secretary of Mennonite World Conference (MWC) since 2012. He grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, became a Christian there as a teenager, and responded to the call to become a pastor and church planter. He graduated from the Seminario Bíblico de Colombia and the Universidad de San Buenaventura. He also encountered and was inspired by Anabaptists, beginning to read their writings. While planting and pastoring Torre Fuerte Mennonite Brethren Church in Bogotá, César was elected president of the Mennonite Brethren churches in Colombia. After earning an M.A. at Fresno Pacific Seminary in California, César was chosen to serve as General Secretary of MWC.
MWC’s focus in all their work is following Jesus, living out unity, building peace.
