Shalom Mennonite in Indianapolis, is asking for help to reunite an immigrant family that has been separated for nearly two years. This family consists of three teenage girls who live in Indianapolis and attend Shalom on a near weekly basis, and their mother, “Betty,” who is being held in a detention center in Eloy, Arizona. If and when the bond money is returned to them, Shalom Mennonite intends to donate all the proceeds to the National Immigration Justice Center, a not-for-profit agency that stepped into Betty’s case and that has been instrumental in turning things around for her family. Berkey’s Mission Commission is donating $500.00 to them. If you would like to donate personally, you may do so through Shalom’s GoFundMe page.
