Summary
When loyalty becomes the question, and power provides the answer, truth dies alone. And then our passions carry us to places where our values would never lead.
Jesus will not be bound by the limitations presented by Pilate’s questions.
“My kingdom is not from this world,” Jesus says.
It does not operate by the same rules. Because Jesus’ kingdom is not built or defended by coercive power, he will not answer Pilate’s question of loyalty
with anything other than truth. “I came into the world for one reason, to testify to the truth. Whoever accepts the truth listens to my voice.”
