Wilderness Wind in Ely, MN has open canoe trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness beginning in August and September. The first opening is for a trip beginning Saturday August 17th and ending Saturday August 24th. The trip is open to anyone age 15 and up. Trip includes 1 day of orientation to paddling and expedition canoeing, 5 days of paddling through the BWCAW, lodging one night before the trip, food, and gear rental. Cost of the trip is $590.00.
The second option is a Lakeside Package, which combines a couple nights’ stay at a Lakeside Cabin or Yurt along with a 2-3 day canoe expedition in the BWCAW.
