Then God spoke all of these words:
I am the Lord your God,
who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
out of the house of slavery;
you shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself an idol,
whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above,
or that is on the earth beneath,
or that is in the water under the earth.
You shall not bow down and worship them . . .
You shall not make alongside me
gods of silver or gold for yourselves. (Exodus 20:1-4, 23)

You recognize these words.
These are the from first two of the Ten Commandments and the law that followed.
The first two – remember that.
Exodus 24 tells us that, after Moses came down the mountain,
he told these and other laws to the people.
And the people, they answered with one voice,
“All the words that the LORD has spoken, we will do,
we will be obedient.”
